Geography Cup

Nov, 2006

GeographyCup was a one-off, trans-Atlantic, geography challenge between the United States and the United Kingdom organized by the group behind GeographyZone. The entire site was created within a week and performed well under high traffic conditions.

Participation was restricted by geo-location, with the use of MaxMind's GeoIP. Over 50,000 players participated in a few short weeks and the United States prevailed.
